November...

While I am aware we are a full week in, November does not arrive in Vancouver until you get your first wind storm and power outage. Thankfully I do not live where my parents do, at the foot of Burnaby Mountain (it's fairly populated - ie. this isn't bush, it's high end homes) - we had 4 power outages last November all lasting at least a day, and one of those times was during the freakish cold snap - boiling water on our BBQ in seriously subzero temperatures all while crazy windy outside - not fun to say the least. I do love the wind though, but with the moisture it just rips through your clothing...

An aside for those who are not familiar with Vancouver - someone had the bright idea of building homes in areas surrounded by trees and then adding more trees - my parents subdivision - there was a row of poplars go down on our neighbor's car and a two very large cedar trees go down on the other side of Hastings during the big wind storm - hurricane force after weeks of similar strength storms, rain and snow. Other subdivisions - are built in areas where older or original growth is clear cut leaving certain trees for aesthetic purposes - of course they haven't developed roots to deal with a full brunt wind storm after years of being in the middle of stand. Not to mention, it does not snow like this in Vancouver, seriously it doesn't and if you ask anyone over 18 they'll tell you the same thing - we're glad it doesn't... we are not cut out for this stuff, and nor is the city's services or Transit - though most of us do opt for Transit - if the bus crashes on one of the many killer hills at least we aren't liable...

November also signals the time for the most stress, procrastination and did I mention stress. We have 3 weeks including this one left and then it's exams. Okay you know what now that I just typed, and it's settling in I'm off to the books - and I'll be reading my Economist when I feel tempted to procrastinate - something the MCAT instilled, if your procrastination is educational it's not that bad, it may be useful - and the new Economist is something we all need to read - The New Wars of Religion...

I'm signing off, so unless you are coming by with raspberry soy Americano misto's or home-made vegan food - so I don't have to cook or able to give me a good massage - to bad Jordan you're not on the mainland, I don't want to see or hear from you. After December 8th and you're buying - a yoga class that is or a martini - I can be swayed - I'll be happy to see ya

okay jenn. seriously. it's 9pm. i know you're not at starbucks because you're avoiding the dude with the mohawk. i know you're not at another coffee shop because no other shop would quite feel like home yet. you're at home. and while you profess to be studying, in every other instance you'd be on msn and messaging me in a heartbeat of procrastination. but you are saliently missing. from the looks of it i bet you've been blocking everyone on your list because of some newfound "stalker." and while one your previous posts may have looked like a do and do not list for him to take careful note of, it wasn't, and it's been hard for even me to read between the lines and finally figure out that you are ENTIRELY not interested in him, and the more you respond to him out of sheer politeness the creepier he becomes in persisting.

in reality i think you just want to be able to get your blog back; while admitedly in a public domain, it's still personal and you would prefer your journalings to be free from one strangers' scrutinizing eyes, and reclaim your right to msn as a place to be safe and embraced by friends.

so back off, buddy.

while those pictures are quite interesting, I would rather keep my stalker ass in Florida where it stays warm.
