Music

Music is good for the soul, actually all art is - art is our way to see and experience the beauty and depth of who God is in new and different ways. Right now I find myself being caught up in the melodic beauty of Patty Griffin, Mindy Smith and the such like. I find Christian praise music like Passion /Hillsong etc. incredibly hard to hear, it rings hollow, rings artificial and speaks to a life that doesn't see pain - a life that doesn't understand, or isn't working through the reality that our lives have pain and blessing and sometimes those are one in the same, and regardless God is in all of it.
